Johannes Auer is a (net) artist and one of the leading figures in digital poetry in Germany. He participated at exhibitions and activities in various countries, works on productions in the intersection of net literature and radio broadcasting for the ORF Kunstradio, Radio Copernicus and RadioRevolten. He has published theoretical essays on net literature and net art and edits both netzliteratur.net and stuttgarter-schule.de. He is curator of the annual net literature festival ìLiteratur und Stromî at the Literaturhaus Stuttgart. Auer also teaches at the Merz Akademie Stuttgart.
