Snow

Snow is freely inspired by a verse from Lutz Bassmann’s Haïkus de prison (Éditions Verdier, collection Chaoïd, Paris, 2008): La neige s’est mise à tomber / si seulement elle ensevelissait / nos souvenirs (p. 78). It translates some of the possibilities therein, transforms others and wanders off in different directions entirely. The pared-down navigational dimension of Prezi is soothing like falling snowflakes – but may also be disorienting, evoking lost memories and transformed, potentially unrecognizable landscapes. This spatial scattering is countered by the repetition of sounds and images throughout, with micro-shifts and gaps creating a hesitant unity, a calm unease.
