J. R. Carpenter is a Canadian artist, writer, researcher, performer, and maker of zines, poetry, short fiction, long fiction, non-fiction, and non-linear intertextual hypermedia and computer-generated texts. Her first novel won the Expozine Alternative Press Award for Best English Book (2009). Her digital literature has been presented at museums, galleries, conferences and festivals around the world. She was honoured with a retrospective at the Electronic Literature Organization Conference in June 2012. She is currently a post-graduate researcher at University of the Arts London, UK.
